About Bob

Bob comes to Sovereign Financial after a dedicated career in ministry. His focus has consistently been on helping people be good stewards of everything that has been entrusted to them. Through vast experience in life coaching, counseling and helping people through difficult times, Bob has been able to develop a philosophy toward financial planning that truly meets people where they are and helps take them where they want to go.

Raised in Atlanta Georgia, Bob graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Economics. That led to a lifelong interest in financial planning, investing, and training people in financial stewardship which he was able to develop and use extensively in the churches he served. Following college, Bob and his wife Deb moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he attained his Master of Divinity and PhD from Southwestern Seminary. He is also holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) certification.

Bob and Deb live in the Five Forks area of Simpsonville, SC. They have three adult sons and five grandchildren. An avid golfer and backpacker, Bob loves the outdoors and adventure. He has also had the privilege of serving on the boards of several non-profit organizations including the YMCA and Hospice. He is an active member and leader at First Baptist Simpsonville and has traveled to Cuba, Honduras, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Kenya in recent years striving to help those who are less fortunate.
